Our Mission
Our goal at The Acoustic Cavern is to give emerging artists and freelance producers a one-stop-shop for all their recording and tracking needs. Over COVID 19, many musicians were forced to pivot into the home studio game. Now, as awesome as that is, it can be difficult for artists and producers to navigate the vast internet waters in order to find the reputable musicians who truly care about each and every project! let alone have the equipment and skill to deliver the musical quality that your project deserves, and this new age of listener demands!

For that reason, over the past five years founder Tanner Dawson has created his very own trusted network of well decorated and established professional musicians. Each of which have their own high-end home studios that makes tracking smooth and simple, and gives your songs the life they deserve; without the need to pay extensive studio fees or deal with ticking clocks or tight timelines.
We strive to be the most flexible, hireable, workable studio in Canada, and with that being said we will do whatever it takes to make sure you, the client, are happy not just with the finished product but with the process and how we got there too. Wether it's tracking instruments yourself locally in our studio in Kamloops, BC, or having one of our pro session players come in and work on your song in-studio or at one of our many partner studios across Canada. Whatever your recording needs are our team will make it happen! No matter what your style or genre, we can help you create and capture the sounds you’ve always dreamed of having on your song.
Meet Our Founder
Tanner Dawson
Canadian Country Recording Artist, Recording Engineer, Sound Technician

Tanner Dawson is a man who where's many hats. Primarily he is a recording artist himself, however; on that journey he became enamoured in the vast world and the finer technical points of recording. After slowly acquiring the equipment necessary to start co-producing his own projects, he has since had the opportunity to produce for many emerging artists and song writers looking to take their ideas to the next level.
When recording his debut single during the pandemic, Dawson came face to face with just how difficult it can be as an artist or freelance producer to find musicians or engineers to work with who truly care about your project and are capable of delivering the quality of tracks your song deserves! It became apparent that if you don't know anyone you could easily spend a lot of money and end up with a product you're not proud of due to many different factors and possible pitfalls. Truthfully, Dawson was extremely fortunate to have many trusted industry connections through years of playing live across Canada and being apart of networks such as the CCMA that helped him find the musicians that best suited the song in question. But this got him thinking; "What about the artists who don't have the money to hire a studio house band at one of the major recording centres? Or what happens if someone has no connections in the industry?" It came to light that unfortunately many artists don't have the infrastructure in place or the home studio setup to just hire musicians to play on their songs, and that is why The Acoustic Cavern was created. For the artist who needs a freelance studio space they can use to work on their projects by themselves or with their producer, and for those who would like to utilize the amazing power of remote recording but don't have the infrastructure, or connections to do so confidently, that is where Dawson is trying mend the gap; a middle man of sorts, yes. Though that's kind-of what a cavern is right? A connection from one point to another!
